Erminio J. DiBattista, 84, of Newington, loving husband of Betty (Atkins) DiBattista for 60 years, passed away on Sunday, July 26, 2015 at his home. Born in Hartford, son of the late Fortunato and Mary (Grazedei) DiBattista, he was a longtime Newington resident and member of St. Mary’s Church. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. During his service, he was a member of the Army’s baseball team, creating lifelong friendships with his fellow soldiers with whom he played. Erminio graduated college with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting. In his leisure time, he enjoyed golf and watching Yankee games. But most of all, he loved spending time with his wife and family. In addition to his wife, Erminio leaves his son, Steven DiBattista and his wife, Genevieve of Cromwell and his son-in-law, Paul and Natalie Albino of Hebron; his three cherished grandchildren: Christine Cama and her husband Dean, James DiBattista and Nicholas Albino; and his adored great-grandson, Ryder Cama. He also leaves two close family friends, Wayne and Carole Hatfield of Newington. Erminio was predeceased by his daughter, Robyn Albino.
