Mrs. Erlene McDowell Sibley, age 84, of Newnan, peacefully ended her life on earth on January 4, 2014. She was born August 11, 1929 in Vienna, Georgia and was the daughter of the late Berry Johnson and Flora Leeomie Hughes McDowell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband Aaron Perry Sibley in 2001 and her son, Michael, last year, and a grandson, Kevin Lewis. She was a person with an engaging personality who derived her greatest delight in her friends, church family, her children and all the grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by her children Kathryn Sibley and her husband Clyde Thurston of Centerville, GA, Betty Claire Carroll and her husband Bill of Greenville, GA, and her son Wayne Sibley of Newnan. She was a doting grandmother to Blake Barber, Will Carroll, Chris Lewis, Jennifer Sibley and Kyle Sibley. Two great grandchildren had blessed her life, Kaleb and Kelsey Sibley. Also surviving are her sisters Helen Byrd and her husband Dan of Centerville; Betty Jean Morgan and her husband H. S. of Perry.
