Mr. Eric Norman “Norm” Ellison
, 76, passed away on November 18, 2009 in the Leesburg Regional Medical Center in Leesburg, Florida.

“Norm” was born in Kearny and lived there until moving to Brick, NJ in 1985. He then moved to Pass Christian, MS in 1997. After Hurricane Katrina in 2005, Mr. Ellison moved to Leesburg, FL.

He was an Electrical Engineer and was employed by Mosler, Inc. in their Electronic Systems Division in Wayne, NJ for many years. He retired in 1996.

He served in the Navy aboard the U.S.S. Dennis J. Buckley 808, a naval destroyer from 1955 to 1957.

Mr. Ellison was a past master of the former Triune Lodge No. 159 F.& A.M., Kearny. He was a member of the Salaam Temple in Livingston, and a member of the Court of Jesters. He was chairman of the Shrine Circus for many years. He played in the Salaam Temple String Band until moving to Mississippi. He was a member of the “Tin Can Sailors Association. He was a member and secretary of the Mobile Amateur Radio Awards Club (MARAC) Mr. Ellison also was a volunteer at the Long Beach, MS Food Pantry for many years.

His hobbies included being a Ham Radio Operator (W2IBB) and building and flying model airplanes.

Norman is survived by his brother Rev. Richard C. Ellison (Caroline), and two sisters Karen Perry (Richard) and Linda Noll (Frederick). He was a wonderful and generous uncle to his nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Eric and Esther (Stromberg) Ellison and his brother Donald. He was a loyal friend to many and will be greatly missed.
