FOREVER LOVED

The family of Eric James Noveroske announces the untimely loss of our beloved son and nephew. Eric passed away, unexpectedly, of natural causes in his home in Leadville, Colorado on July 24, 2022. He was 34 years old.

A native of White Rock, New Mexico, Eric graduated from Los Alamos High School in 2006. He attended classes at the University of New Mexico-Los Alamos Campus, and studied “Ski Area Operations” at Colorado Mountain College, Leadville Campus. Once his formal education was completed Eric continued to stimulate his intellect and thirst for knowledge by self-education, especially in the fields of creative writing, philosophy, physics, meteorology, medicine and pharmacology.

His love of snowboarding led him to settle in Leadville, where he worked in both Lake and Summit Counties, as a Base Operations employee at Copper Mountain Resorts, a Summer Activities Supervisor at the Breckenridge Ski Resort (Epic Discovery Park), and Lift Operations Supervisor at Ski Cooper.

Growing up in Los Alamos County he developed a love of nature and the outdoors, roaming and exploring the canyons of White Rock, Los Alamos, and Jemez Mountain areas. His childhood was enriched by travels over the continent and Hawaii, with his family. He enjoyed in-line skating, playing golf and snowboarding. His love of outdoor activities, however, did not preclude a unique gift of verbal persuasion as evidenced by winning Speech Contests three years in a row in school.

Eric had compassion for both humans and animals, had a great sense of humor, and loved to make people laugh. Eric was highly respected at his work. A Slovakian guest co-worker wrote that “Eric was one of the sweetest and funniest people I met in America.  He made work fun and he was the best boss I ever had.” Breckenridge staff and crew held a touching memorial procession for Eric on their Alpine Slide where he had been a supervisor at the time of his passing. There was an outpouring of love and respect on his Facebook page:

“His soul was gentle and kind and he will always be remembered for the joy and easy manner he had. His road, like many, was not always easy, but he is someone that touched many lives and made them better for having known him.”

“Eric was truly one of a kind. He was genuine and compassionate”

“Eric was a fantastic human.  He had an infectious work ethic and a deep care for his fellow employees. I am grateful for everything he did for me”

Eric is survived by his devoted parents Diane and Evan Noveroske, and loving aunts and uncles: Kathy Carlstead, Edward Carlstead, Tim and (sister-in-law, Lois) Noveroske, Sue Donegan-Noveroske, and by three cousins: C. Sloane (George) Wenthe, Michael Noveroske, and T. J. Noveroske.  As well as his God Parents: Frank and Elizabeth Ameduri.

Eric adored dogs.

Eric’s path was cut short but he is resting in eternal peace now. Soar high. We will see you later.
