Eric James Bohman died on Saturday, October 2nd 2021,. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Lou Ann, their son Leif, daughter-in-law, Erika, and two grandchildren, Annika and Lars. He was predeceased by his parents, George and Gladys Bohman, and his brother Robert Bohman.

Eric was born on March 29, 1948 in Detroit, Michigan. He attended Dondero High School where he was co-valedictorian and a standout tennis player. Eric attended Amherst College and married his wife, Lou Ann, after his sophomore year. He was active in the anti-war movement and was the president of the college’s chapter of the Students for Democratic Society. After Eric graduated from Amherst in 1970, the couple moved to New Haven where Eric completed a PhD at Yale in American History. He taught at Trinity College in Hartford and then worked at Tamarkin and Company, where he sold collectible photographic equipment. He was known for his encyclopedic knowledge of Leica cameras, and his clients ranged from passionate amateurs to collectors and professional photographers. He made many friends in the camera business and enjoyed trips with the Leica Historical Society throughout the US and Germany.

Eric particularly loved his time and travels with family.
