Eric J. Hubbard, 60, of O’Fallon, IL, born September 24, 1952, in Belleville, IL, died Saturday, April 20, 2013, at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, Belleville, IL. Eric served as an O’Fallon Township Trustee from May 1997 until March 2004. He was an O’Fallon Police Deputy Marshall for 37 years and an O’Fallon Township High School District 203 board member for 20 years.
Eric ran in the April 9, 2013 election and would have been sworn in as Township Trustee next month and his school board term would have ended. Eric was a very community and civic-minded individual. Always ready to step in and help serve the needs of the citizens and the entire O’Fallon Community. He was a founding member of the O’Fallon Bass Casters, an original member of the Shiloh Valley Bass Masters and was a member of the O’Fallon Township Youth Committee. He was also the owner of Hubbard’s Pro-Am Shop.
He was preceded in death by his father Joseph W. Hubbard and mother-in-law Jackie, nee Green, Scharringhausen. Eric is survived by his wife, Deborah, nee Scharringhausen, Hubbard, mother, Betty J., nee Whitehead, Hubbard, 2 children, Nathan (Autymn) Hubbard, Emilee Hubbard, grandchildren, Kailee Hubbard and Wyatt Hubbard , and a brother, Craig (Claudia) Hubbard, all of O’Fallon. He is also survived by his father-in-law Robert Scharringhausen Sr., brother-in-law Robert (Cindy) Scharringhausen Jr., nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear and special friends.
