Eric Eugene Willett, 66, passed away at home surrounded by his family Friday, January 14, 2022.
Eric was born September 30, 1955, in Iowa, to William and Genevieve (Thorpe) Willett and raised on his father’s farm. He married Nancy (Giles) Willett on August 2, 1980.
Eric worked as a Plant Operations Engineer for UnityPoint for 30 years, retiring in May of 2021. In his younger years he enjoyed his Harley. He loved to travel to new places and took trips to Canada to go fishing with his buddies. Eric liked sports, coaching his daughter’s softball teams and watching the Green Bay Packers. He was an excellent cook and loved his Sunday dinners with his whole family. Eric could fix and do anything he set his mind to. He was a very knowledgeable person and a master of everything. Eric truly enjoyed boating and camping with his children and grandchildren.
Eric is survived by his daughters, Erica Six of Clive, IA, Brandi Willett of Des Moines, IA, Ashley K Willett of Carlisle, IA; brothers, Alan (Teri) Willett, Shawn Foster; sister, Kathy Prevo; grandchildren, Skyler Six, Logan Atkinson, Emily Atkinson, Jayden Mace, Tristan Six, Dominic Leonetti, Elizabeth Six. He was preceded in death by the love of his life, Nancy Joan Willett; parents; step-mother, Margaret Willett.
