Enrigue Valdivia Jr “Henry”, 51, native of Flagstaff passed away July 30, 2016. He was born February 3, 1965 in Flagstaff.
Family was always Henry’s 1st priority and the most important part of his life. Henry worked hard to provide for his family so they would never go “without”, and they never did.
Henry was well known in the community, volunteering to coach youth sports; baseball, basketball and football. He was also known for his generosity to the neighborhood kids, gladly buying extra ice cream from “the ice cream man” so no child would feel left out.
Athletics played a big part in his life. He was an avid basketball player, he played for the City of Flagstaff as well as traveling for tournaments. He passed that passion on to his children, Jenika and Joe, because of him they shined at every sport they played. He was proud of them both. He would burst with that pride every time they called him dad.
Henry was a die-hard Pittsburgh Steeler and Pirates fan, since the age of 10. Henry was a long term employee as a Signal Tech III for ADOT with the State of Arizona which required extensive traveling as far as the “4-Corners”.
Henry’s greatest accomplishment and love of his life, as everyone knew, was his granddaughter, Haily. You’ve heard the saying “wrapped around his finger,” Henry was, without a doubt, wrapped around her finger.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Susan, children Jenika (Anthony) and Joseph, granddaughter Haily, parents Henry and Shirley Valdivia, siblings Thomas and Ronald and more friends and extended family then one could count.
