Enid Rae Leigh, beautiful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away on March 31, 2021. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Barry Leigh, son Bryan (Tom), daughter Cara (John), brother Alan (MaryAnn), sister Terrie (Dick), sister Janie (Jeff), grandchildren Matthew, Kristen (Brian), and Alexander, and great-grandchildren, Oliver, Aria, Annabelle, and Francis as well as many nieces and nephews.
Born December 5, 1943 in Long Beach, California to Aaron Waxman and Frances (nee Yacht) Waxman she grew up in Southern California joining her siblings in attending college at USC – a family of Trojan Alumni. A dedicated USC Trojan fan for life, she met the love of her life, a dedicated albeit dueling UCLA Bruins fan, Barry Leigh, with whom she spent almost six decades living life to the fullest. Both Enid and Barry spent the first thirty some years raising their twins – Bryan and Cara – and educating countless numbers of students at Huntington Beach High School and Edison High School, respectively.
Enid and Barry retired to Scottsdale, Arizona in 2000 where they settled into a life traveling, golfing, and integrating into their new community. Enid loved spending time with her friends made through tennis, book club, Bunco, bridge groups, and other card groups. A fierce and loyal friend, Enid was ever the optimist making the most of life while she battled each stage of Parkinson’s disease for the last twenty-three years of her life. Enid truly lived a good life and her love with Barry as well as the pride she took in her children and family will continue to live on in our hearts and memories.
