As I sit here watching the clock, I have to wonder when your time will stop. As the time ticks by, I wonder why, I came here to watch you die. It was all too easy as I started to think. You were there to comfort me, to hold me, to reassure me, and to scold me. But most of all it was to hold me. When your time stops I want you to know. The love you gave and the love you showed will always live for us to know. Your memory will last in the hearts you touched as a mother’s love knows no bounds whether to the heavens or on to these earthly grounds. As your time draws near my mind is unclear. I tell you I love you and it’s ok. I hold your hand hoping the medication makes the pain go away. When you open your eyes, I can see you inside. Though you can’t speak I can see your concern. I ask if you’re scared and to my surprise you reach your hand out and touch my side. Could this be why. Because you see the tears running from my eyes. So, in your last hours here you are once again reaching out to comfort your baby boy all over again. As the tears begin to flow, this is when I knew why, I came to watch my momma die. I’m here to hold you, love you, and to help you spread your wings. So, when the time comes I want you to know your family will continue to love each other and grow. Though you will be gone one thing will be true instead of one guardian angel we will now have two. So run now, run as fast as you can, back into the arms of your one and only man. For he has been waiting way too long. For he made you this promise I knew he has kept. He told you he would be waiting by heavens holy gates until he could be joined hand in hand with his lovely wife once again. For on this day there is one thing I know. There will be two angels walking hand in hand as they pass St. Peter and cross into the promise land.
