Emmet John Vorderstrasse of Alexandria, NE the son of H.K. and Gertji (Trauernicht)Vorderstrasse was born October 20, 1919 in Chester, NE. Emmet departed this life Wednesday February 17, 2010 at Jefferson Community Health Center in Fairbury, NE at the age of 90 years.
Emmet grew up in the Chester, NE area and attended school through the 11th grade.
Emmet married Creta Wills on June 1, 1941, this marriage was blessed with the birth of one son. He was drafted in the United States Army in WWII and was attached to the U.S. Air Corp. After honorably discharged he returned to live in Belvidere, NE and worked in Hebron for Harold Beisner. The couple moved to Grand Island, NE and both worked for the Ordinance Plant, they later moved to Crookston, MN where Emmet worked for the American Crystal Sugar Beet Company as an electrical engineer. Later the couple moved to Lincoln, NE where Emmet was employed with the Brunswick Company. Upon retirement the couple moved to Alexandria, NE.
