Emmert B. Carr, 62, of Thoreau passed away on January 21, 2021 in Thoreau, New Mexico. Emmert was born on January 27, 1958 in Tonalea, New Mexico to Homer and Agnes Jones Carr. Born to Lok’aa’ Dine’e Clan (Reed People) and born for Tachiinii (Red Running Into Water People Clan).
Emmert was a real family man, taking care of his children and his wife of 43 years. He worked all his adult life as an equipment operator for Santa Fe Railway and Union Pacific Railway. Emmert has worked with various heavy equipment and sky crane for Keiwitt of New Mexico traveling to many states. He loved traveling with his wife, enjoying sightseeing, fishing, camping and helping people who needed to be helped. He was a very kind, respected person and made many friends. He loved playing the guitar and singing county music as well as inspirational songs, going to church to worship with others. There was never a quiet day when he was around. Emmert was originally from Inscription House, Arizona and resided with the love of his life in Thoreau, New Mexico.
Emmert is preceded in death by his son, Sheldon Emmett Carr, parents, Homer and Agnes Carr.
Emmert is survived by his wife, Rhoda J. Carr, sons, Emery Carr, Shane Carr, Everett B. Carr, Shaun Emmert Carr, daughters, Candice L. Clark, Cassandra J. Beauford, Shanesha L. Carr, brothers, Roger Singer, Sr., Herman Carr, Gary Carr, Clarence Carr, Lawrence Carr, sister, Lillian Begaye, Linda Littleman, 14 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
