Emma W. Calhoun, 67, of Ashland, IL died Monday evening, July 4, 2016, at her residence.
She was born July 25, 1948 in Jacksonville, the daughter of Albert and Pauline Gillis Willems. She married Wayne L. Calhoun Sr. on May 22, 2004 in Ashland and he survives.
She is also survived by her mother, Pauline Willems Shryock of Jacksonville; a son, Michael R. Buckman (wife, Michelle) of Petersburg; three step sons, Randy Buckman (wife, Mandy) of Ashland, Wayne Calhoun Jr. (wife, Amy) of Springfield, and Mark Anthony Calhoun (wife, Lindsey) of Springfield; five grandchildren; and her former daughter-in-law, Shannon Holmes (husband, Howard “Joe”) of Springfield.
She was preceded in death by her father, Albert Willems; her step father, Eugene Shryock; the father of her son, Lawrence Buckman; and a granddaughter, Shelby Jenkins.
Emma was a 1966 graduate of Jacksonville High School. She was employed six years with Olson’s Cleaners in Jacksonville, for 15 years with Casey’s Convenience Store in Ashland, and most recently with the Springfield School District #186 Food Service for seven years. She attended the Ashland Church of Christ.
