Services for Ms. Emma R. Owens, 94 of Moulton, Alabama will be 1:00PM Tuesday November 23, 2021 at Freeman Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church with Rev.
Emma Ruth Owens was born on July 31, 1927 to the late Harrison Carter and Versella Lipscomb in Trinity, AL. She departed this life on November 17, 2021at NHC in Moulton.
She accepted Christ at an early age and later on in life joined Freeman Tabernacle Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir.
She attended school in Hillsboro, Alabama and worked as a homemaker. She was raised on a farm and often stated, “I like outdoor work”. She took pride in her excellent memory and was always able to provide family members with significant dates such as birthdays, marriages, etc.
She was precede in death by: her parents, her husband, Levert Owens; son, Talmadge Owens; three sisters, Sarah Louise Jones, Lucille Cooper and Mary Hutcherson; three brothers, Alfred Carter, Carl Carter and Jim Carter.
She leaves to cherish her memory: two daughters, Carmen Millender of Evergreen, AL, Jacqueline (Jerome) Cockrell; three sons, Leotis Owens of Moulton, AL, Ozzivelt (Bernardita) Owens of New York, NY, Reginald Owens of Florence, AL; a loving sister, Annie Mae Kennedy, Fort Mill, SC; brother-in-law, Blanton (Wilma) Owens; sister-in-law, Erma Donald; a very special friend, Kay Walker; a host of grandchildren; great grandchildren; nieces, nephews and other relatives.
