Emma O. Scott, 77, of Anderson, passed away after a sudden illness on October 11, 2014 at her residence in Anderson.
She was born on July 30, 1937 in Burkesville, Kentucky and resided most of her life in Anderson. She retired from Delco Remy Division of General Motors. Emma enjoyed making floral arrangements, remodeling homes, interior decorating, working in her yard, but most of all, she was dedicated to giving loving care to family members and friends. She enjoyed spending time and creating lasting friendships with her church friends from Parkview Wesleyan Church. A special thanks to Pastor Trent and her loving church family. Emma is survived by her loving daughter, Jody (Rick) Ratz of Pulaski, TN; grandsons which were the light of her life, Colton Ratz, Brett Ratz, Chase Scott and Corey Scott; sister, Roberta (Sap) Glotzbach (R. A. Riley); best friend and life-long companion, George Scott; nieces, Kim Gladney, Jamie Lowry (Dave and Nathan), Bree Emerton, Brittney Gladney and Lynnsey Garrett; nephews, Jeff York, Tim Gladney, Justin Symmes and Travis Gladney; sister-in-law, Kathy Garrett; best friend that she loved like a sister, Mary Howerton and her four girls that loved their Emmie-Sue; good friends, Shirley Davis, Terri Spotsville, and Lisa and Brian Bauman. All of you have held a special place in her heart.
She was preceded in death by parents, Albina and Delmer Garrett; son, Rodney Scott; brothers, Jimmie D. Garrett and Harold Garrett; grandfather, Eddie Garrett; three nephews; niece; and special friend, Joe Howerton.
