Emma Marie “Jean” Lowden (nee, Darr), of Burlington, died Thursday, February 21, 2008 at Lourdes Hospital, Willingboro, at the age of 87. Mrs. Lowden was born in Burlington and grew up on Darr’s Alley. She worked at Fleetwings, in Bristol, during World War Two.

She later worked at J. Chein Company, in Burlington, as a power press operator for 37 years. She was an active and lifelong member of the Broad Street United Methodist Church, in Burlington, where she was the Assistant Secretary and also the chairperson of the Friendship Committee. Wife of the late Lawrence S. “Giggles” Lowden, Sr., she is survived by her children, Lawrence S. Lowden, Jr., of Palmyra, and Janice Lowden, of Burlington Township, her grandchildren, Christina Lowden, of New Zealand, Deborah and Joseph Plenzick, of Florida, and Rick and Jackie Lowden, of North Carolina, and her grandchildren, John and April Plenzick, Ricky and Troy Lowden, and several nieces and nephews.
