Emma Lou Jones, 82,  was peacefully promoted to glory from her home on May 6, 2015. Her faithful husband was at her side and her loving family and friends had been her encouragement in the past two months of illness.

Emma, being the only girl among five brothers, grew up with a feisty and determined spirit which stayed with her all of her life. She attended Garfield Elementary, West Junior High and graduated from Boise High School in 1950. She attended the Salvation Army Corp in Boise and left from there to attend Salvation Army Training School in San Francisco, California. Graduating as an ordained minister in 1952, she served corps in Oceanview of San Francisco, CA; Sitka, Alaska and in Salt Lake City, Utah. It was “love at first sight” in Utah when she met Airman Second Class Roland J Jones. They were married June 30, 1956.

21 for a few years. In 1993 they ventured back to Alaska, a state Emma loved.

Emma’s musical talents were many. She played the accordion, trumpet, clarinet, bass clarinet, alto horn and her favorite, the organ. She created many paintings. She enjoyed doing word search puzzles, playing Bingo, and trips to Jackpot. She always enjoyed seeing her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Emma was preceded in death by her father, Edward T Andrews, her mother, Emma Lucinda Andrews and her brothers Otto, Elmer and Herbert Andrews. She is survived by her husband of 59 years Roland Jones and their four children: Stephen and Micaela Jones, Jeffrey and Sue Jones, Valerie and Randy Martindale; two brothers, Lawrence Andrews of Brookings OR and Ronald Andrews of Bethany CT David and Tanya Jones along with twelve grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren. Also her beloved life long friend who helped care for her, Christina Jean Anderson of Sweet ID

A special thank you to the caring nurses and staff of St Lukes, Boise 9 North and XL Hospice of Payette ID who supported and encouraged us.
