Emma L. Gerber, 91 of West Bend died August 11, 2009 at the West Bend Care Center. Emma Lou Moser, the daughter of Joe and Rosina (Luthi) Moser was born July 27, 1918 in Horton Township, Stevens County, Minnesota. She received her education in Stevens County School District #16 at Morris, Minnesota. Emma found the need to seek the Lord in repentance and was baptized in 1937. On April 20, 1941 she was united in marriage to Noah Carl Gerber at Morris, Minnesota. The couple spent their lifetime farming in the West Bend area, moving to town in 1980. Emma is survived by her eight children, Carolyn and Alfred Banwart, Lamar, MO, Marcella and Joe Steiner, Tremont, Il, Delores and Paul Metzger, Alvord, IA, Ilene and Roger Hartter, Sabetha, KS, Shirley and Larry Ifft, Fairbury, Il, Cheryl and Dale Moore, Elgin, IA, Manuel and Mary Gerber and David and Diane Gerber of West Bend, IA, one sister Minnie Kussatz and two brothers Chris Moser and William Moser all of Morris, Minnesota, 31 grandchildren and 97 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Noah in 2007, granddaughter Janet Sue Steiner, 9 great grandchildren, two sisters Elizabeth Wulf and Martha Feucht, and three brothers, Nathan Moser, Joe Moser and Alphia Moser. Emma was a God fearing, loving mother and grandmother. Her hospitality toward others will always be remembered.
