Mrs. Emma Jean Stone was born on May 5, 1948 in Sylacauga, Alabama to the late Abraham Brownfield and Lydia M. Conaway Brownfield.

Emma Jean received her formal education in the Sylacauga School System and graduated from East Highland High School in 1966. She furthered her education at Nunnelly Trade School in Childersburg, Alabama.

With her parents guidance she became a member of Saint Thomas Methodist Church, where she served faithfully until her health failed.

Emma Jean worked in the Sylacauga School System for at least 30 years.

In her leisure she enjoyed cooking, tending to her roses and being a friend to many.

Her loving spirit and gentle smile will be missed by those she leaves behind her only beloved son, Larry Jermaine Stone and granddaughter, De’Asia Lauderdale; three loving sisters, Eula Brown, Washington, DC; Brenda Hughes of Sylacauga, AL, and Sharon Hubbard; two brother-in-laws, Clyde (Diane) Stone, Leeds, AL, and Charles Hughes; sister-in-law Lynda Stone, New York; three niece, Giquita Hughes, Jennifer Joe, and Alicia Hubbard; grand  nieces, Reeaja Brown, Oxon Hill, MD; Saniya Johnson, Acacia Patterson, Victoria and Gabrial Joe; nephews, Reginald Brown, Oxon Hill, MD, and Christopher Hughes; grand nephews, Christopher Hughes, Jr., and Kyran Hughes; and a host of other relatives and friends
