Emma Wade Sanders nee Jenkins, 95, died of natural causes at her daughter’s home in Millersville. Mrs. Sanders was a lifelong resident of Pasadena. She was born July 21, 1914 on her grandmother’s 200 acre farm on Tick Neck Road, which is now the development of Chesterfield. Emma was a member of Pasadena United Methodist Church since 1923 when her parents built their house on Ritchie Highway. She married Elzy Lee Wade on Valentine’s Day in 1936 and was blessed with her daughter Elaine in 1938. After the death of her beloved Lee, she would later marry Pete Sanders who passed away in 1989. She retired from the Bank of Glen Burnie after a full career that began the day the bank opened its first branch in 1949. She also worked part time in the evenings and on weekends in the office of Robinson’s Department Store. Through the years she belonged to the Pasadena Past Time Club, where several women enjoyed various activities such as crocheting, embroidery and knitting. Emma won several blue ribbons over the years at the county fair for her crochet work.
