Emma A. Knight, 100, died Friday evening, April 9, 2010 at the Gatehouse Hospice, eight days shy of her 101st birthday.
She was born April 17, 1909 in Williamsport, the daughter of S. Herman and Cordelia Smith Alter. Her late husband, Dr. John E. Knight, M.D., died April 8, 1983. She lived the majority of her life on West Fourth Street in Newberry, and lived with her eldest daughter for the past two years.
She is survived by her two daughters, Joan and Cicily Knight, both of Williamsport; two grandchildren, Beth Nauman-Montana of Seattle, WA and Michael Lahickey of Basalt, CO and two great grandchildren.
Emma in addition to her husband was predeceased by a sister, Lavina A. Schaefer.
