She is preceded in death by her father, Darrell Robert Rhyne, her paternal grandparents, Georgia and Hunter Rhyne, and her maternal grandparents, Bonnie and Walter Wellman.
Ms. Fortenberry is survived by one son, Joshua Hunter Fortenberry of Lincolnton; her mother, Edna Dean Wellman Rhyne of Lincolnton, and one brother, Jeffrey Darrell Rhyne of Lincolnton; two nephews, Jonah Rhyne and John Chapman, and one niece, Addison Chapman and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
