Emily Elizabeth Turner, 97 years, of Virginia, IL died March 13, 2008 at the Walker Nursing Home in Virginia.
She was born July 9, 1910 in Fulton County, IL; the daughter of Lawrence A. and Bertha Viola Foster Snowden. She married Lyle Turner on December 27, 1928 and he preceded in death in 1984.
She is survived by a grandson, James Turner of Seven Oaks, near London, England; six great granddaughters; and a great great granddaughter. She was preceded in death by two sons, Phillip and Albert Turner, and a granddaughter, Kathi Schuler.
Mrs. Turner was an Astoria High School graduate and attended Gem City College in Quincy. She retired in 1975 following many years of employment with Charles Thomas Publishing Company of Springfield. She was a member of Virginia United Methodist Church where she previously served as church organist for 17 years.
