Mr. Delgado died Monday, October 10, 2016, in Temple. He was surrounded by his family when the Lord called him home.
He was born July 23, 1933 in Georgetown, Texas, the son of Francisco F. and Maria Rivera Delgado. He was an evangelist since 1959 and worked many years as a heavy equipment operator in construction. He also enjoyed drinking coffee at the local Jalisco’s where he was known as Don Emilio. Emilio never met a stranger and never missed an opportunity to spread the word of God. He studied his Bible daily and his favorite verse was Jeremiah 33:3. He was a humble man who loved his family and was always there to lend a helping hand to everyone.
Survivors include 12 children; five sons, Pete Delgado of Belton, Emilio Delgado, Jr. and wife Dionne of Temple, Ezequiel Delgado of Belton, Elias Delgado of Temple and Isaias Delgado of Temple; seven daughters, Rosie Delgado of Belton, Erma Delgado of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Noami Hernandez of Buckholts, Mary Ann Nielsen and husband Jon of Cliffwood Beach, New Jersey, Linda Bosquez of Temple, Ester Logiudice and husband Anthony of Temple and Ruth Delgado of Belton; twenty- nine grandchildren and six great- grandchildren.
Emilio was preceded in death by his parents, Francisco F. and Maria Rivera Delgado and three brothers Francisco, George and Eustacio.
