Emil Thomas Hill, age 95, of Centralia, IL, passed away on Saturday, September 19, 2015 at Fireside Nursing Home in Centralia.

Emil was born on December 6, 1919 in Lebanon, MO, a son to John Thomas and Esther Caroline (Hughes) Hill. He married Virginia Hill on August 12, 1941 and she preceded him in death on October 23, 2008.

Emil is survived by two sons, Wayne Hill and wife Glorianna of Hot Springs, SD and Loren Hill of Centralia, IL; six grandchildren, Susette Mahaffy and husband Jamie, Brian Hill and wife Janet, Shawn Hill and wife Toni, Craig Hill and wife Marla, Curtis Hill and wife Crystal, and Becky Gunter and husband Doug; twenty-one great grandchildren, Kiera, Shanna, Precious, Hope, Hanna, Holly, Henry, Jazmine, Emaya, Ciara, Charlise, Blake, Natalaya, Jeffery, Brandon, Shawn, Damian, Bethany, Destiny, Emily, and Makayla; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife, he was also preceded in death by his parents; an infant son, Eldon Hill; one granddaughter, Desirae; four brothers, Harlan, Wallace, Clayton, and Marvin; and a sister, Netta.

Emil moved to Illinois during the Oil Boom where he began to farm and sell livestock feed. He raised dairy cows and chickens, having more than 2,000 chickens at one time.

Emil was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church in Centralia. He spent his free time sitting under his shade tree watching calves play. He loved his family and especially enjoyed spending time with his great-grandson, Shawn M. Hill.
