Emery was born on February 8, 1925 in New Bedford, MA a son of the late Joseph and Claire (Collette) Legere.

He was an avid Yankee fan who had a great sense of humor and also enjoyed racing midget cars.
He is survived by his two sons and daughters-in-law Butch and Lori Legere of Bristol and Bob and Kathy Legere of Bristol; his three grandchildren, Matthew Legere and his wife Heidi, Nicole and her husband Jake Riley and Keifer Legere; his three great-grandchildren, Connor and Hunter Legere and Brayden Riley; his sister Lillian Allaine and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by several of his brothers and sisters.
