Emerson Roy Bill, 90, of Eureka, IL, formerly of Lowpoint, IL passed away at 1:45 pm on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at Loft Rehabilitation and Nursing in Eureka. He was born on November 15, 1928 to Ben and Emma (Wyss) Bill in Minonk, IL. He married Goldie M. Hilliard on December 30, 1949 in Lowpoint, IL.
Surviving are his wife Goldie of Eureka; children Jeff (Virginia) Bill of Mooresville, NC, Kenneth (Brenda) Bill of Roanoke, Brian (Andrea) Bill of Eureka, Douglas Bill of Lowpoint, and Sheryl (Todd) Bill-Mayo of Franklin, TN; grandchildren Andrew (Amy) Bill, Caleb Bill, Brandon Bill, Erin Bill, Danielle Bill, and Alex Bill; and great-grandchildren Lily Mae Bill and Max Bill. He was preceded in death by his parents, infant son, infant twin daughters, three brothers, and five sisters.
Emerson was a U.S. Army Veteran serving from 1952 – 1954 during the Korean War. He was a 1958 Eureka College graduate. He was a teacher at Lowpoint-Washburn Junior High and High School for 31 years, retiring in 1988.
