Elza Arthur Bay, 85, passed away Wednesday Dec. 24, 2014 in Greenwood. He was a resident of Franklin.
He was born Nov. 10, 1929 in Brown County to Fred and Hazel (Snyder) Bay. He married Barbara Elkins on June 24, 1950 in Franklin; they were married for 64 years.
Elza was a self employed builder and farmer for 45 years in Johnson County, retiring in 1994. Elza loved farming and remodeling and building new homes. He enjoyed spending time with his family and especially with his grandchildren. He also enjoyed watching western movies and television shows.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Bay of Franklin, two sons, Ronald Bay, formerly of Franklin and Tommy (Catherine) Bay of Morgantown, two sisters, Dorothy (Jim) Gross of Tennessee and Margaret Coffey of Morgantown, three brothers, Oren (Viola) Bay of Bloomington, Dean (Connie) Bay of Columbus and Dale Bay of Indianapolis, four grandchildren, Rhonda Trueblood, Seth Bay, Adrienne Bay and Christine Bay and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, David, Paul and Clarence Bay and three sisters, Thelma Leffler, Esther Lucas and Leona Cox.
