Elwyn Arthur Meyer, 95, of Idaho Falls, passed away April 10, 2017, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.
Elwyn was born February 2, 1922, in Granite City, Illinois, to Fred Meyer and Mata Link Meyer. He grew up and attended schools in Granite City and graduated from Granite City High School. He also attended Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri, where he received his Associate’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He flew as a First Lieutenant Navigator on D-Day.
On January 21, 1945, he married June Gerrard in Granite City. Their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on August 19, 1980. To this union were born two children, Richard and Cheryl. Elwyn and June made their home in Granite City for 45 years where Elwyn worked as a mechanical engineer for Emerson Electric. They then moved to Idaho Falls, Idaho.
