Elwyn Holmes, age 72, of Salem, formerly of East Liverpool, died at 6:20 p.m. Friday, September 6, 2013, at the Essex of Salem I. He was born September 22, 1940 in New London, Connecticut, the son of the late Eugene and Lillian Holmes. Mr. Holmes had worked in auto repair and had served in the U.S. Army as a supply handler. Survivors include three daughters, Karen Welch of Maryland, Joann Holmes of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Linda Tannery of Colorado Springs, Colorado; a stepson, Willis Cottrill of East Liverpool; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
