Woody Cottle, 82 of Highlands Ranch, formerly of Littleton, passed away after a lenghty illness on December 4, 2010.

 

Woody was a loving husband of Phyllis and wonderful father of five daughters: Terri Cottle (Henry), Jan Schweitzer (Fred), Sidney Nelson (Steve), Kristin Connolly (Sean), and Kari Clancy (Kevin); seven grandchildren: Rachel, Erin, Jake, Andy, Kendra, Tara, and Keelin.

He was raised in Utah and Idaho, graduated from Utah State University, served at the end of WWII and was an engineer at the Martin Company, now Lockheed Martin, for 33 years.

Woody spent several years giving back to the community: He was on the Littleton’s Planning Commission, a Littleton City Councilman (72′ – 76′), The Buidling Authority, director of the Friends of the Library/Museum, in fact he was on one city committee ot another for 38 years. When on the City Council, he introduced the Pea Patch Program, was instrumental in obtaining the early stages of the South Platte Park, helped with the funding in the West side of the river for The Town Hall Arts Center, etc. He was also an elder of the St.
