Elvis M. Loyd, 77 of Rockford, passed away December 9, 2015 at Medina Manor Nursing Home in Durand, Illinois from complications of Alzheimer’s.He was born January 15, 1938 in Centralia, son of Emit and Sylvia (Shook) Loyd. He married Diana Gulley on December 6, 1997 and she survives.
In addition to his wife, he is also survived by his children: Alan Loyd, Peggy Erbes, Laura Mathis all of Centralia, Kevin Loyd and Mandy Loyd both of Marion; step-daughter: Nikki of Rockford; a brother: David Loyd of Centralia; two sisters: Gladys Payne of Torrance, California and Darlene Krieger of Richmond; several nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother: Don Loyd, six sisters: Doris Loy, Agnes Matheny, Rita Olson, Mildred Loy and twin Mary Joyce Loyd, and Delores Bradley.Elvis graduated from Centralia Junior College in 1960. He served in the U.S. Army form May 1962 to May 1964. Elvis was retired from T.N.T. Trucking.
