Elmira was born on March 14, 1926 in Richmond County, N.C. to the late Fletcher and Rosa Ewings LeGrand. A former resident of High Point, she was a graduate of William Penn High School and attended Hampton University.
Additionally to her parents, one sister, Fannie Storr and a brother, Manley LeGrand preceded her in death.
Surviving relatives include one brother, James Ewings, Jr. of Newark, NJ; three nieces, two nephews, a host of other relatives and friends.
