Mr. Elvin Munn, age 67 of Sanford, NC transitioned into eternal rest on Thursday, April 20, 2023, at his residence in Sanford, NC.
Elvin was born June 26th, 1955 to the late Charlie Munn Sr., and Zuttie H. Munn. He received his education in the Wake County School System.
He worked for many years for the University of North Carolina Printing Department. After which, he worked for Pleasant Office Systems, Dry Dock Seafood and finally retired from FedEx Kinkos Office in Chapel Hill, NC after many years.
Elvin was a loving grandfather, father, brother, uncle, mentor, and friend to many. His lessons and love are felt and exhibited by many who have come in contact with him.
Elvin was a passionate football coach for many years. He coached and impacted the lives of many young people throughout his tenure. He also possessed a passion for cooking. He catered for many years to the national and local assembly of the United Holy Church of America, Inc.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father; three sisters, Ruby Lee Cummings (Jacksonville, NC), Margaret Spencer (Brooklyn, NY), and Irene Goodson (Raleigh, NC), and his brother, Charlie Munn Jr. (Raleigh, NC).
Elvin is survived by his wife of 38 dedicated years, Shelia Atwater Munn (Sanford, NC); three sons, Emmanuel Munn (Lexington, NC), Martin Munn (Siler City, NC), and Noe Li Munn (Sanford, NC), one stepson, Enricole L. Atwater (White Plains, MD); one daughter-in-law, Brittany Munn (Sanford,NC), three grandchildren, Melodi and Major Munn (Sanford, NC) and Maverick Munn (Siler City, NC), and four step-grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters, Thomasine Patterson (Raleigh, NC) and Ruth Dale Munn (Garner, NC); and a host of
nieces, nephews, and friends.
