Elva L. Simons, age 87, of Jonesboro, IN, died April 14, 2010, at Colonial Oaks Healthcare Center in Marion, IN. She was the daughter of the late Kenneth Countryman and the late Maude (Lindsey) Countryman. Elva graduated from Hicksville High School. She was employed at General Electric after high school until she married Clinton Simons on February 19, 1944. She became a homemaker after her marriage. They were married for 64 years.

He preceded her in death on March 2, 2008. She was a member of the Fowlerton United Methodist Church. Elva was a true homemaker of days gone by. She was a well known seamstress throughout Grant County with a client list of more that 330. She enjoyed canning her homegrown vegetables and making her home a welcoming haven for family and friends.

She is survived by two daughters; Sue Bayless, Jonesboro, IN Sarah Roberts, Fort Collins, CO. Two Sons; Sam Simons, Jonesboro, IN Steve (Diana) Simons, Shelbyville, IN 9 Grandchildren; Lea Ann (Bob) Zuellig, Ft. Collins, CO Erin Roberts, Colorado Micah (Nichole) Roberts, Eden Prairie, MN J.C. (Vickie) Bayless, Jonesboro, IN Shellie (Denny) Smith, Gas City, IN Jeremy Simons, New York City, NY Josh (Nachel), Indianapolis, IN Luke Simons, Zenio, oH Erik Simons, Chicago, IL 9 Great-grandchildren Brother; Charles (Monyea) Countryman, Edgerton, OH Sisters-in-law; Doris Secrest and Joann Simons both of Marion, IN Brothers-in-law; Jim Brelsford, Marion and Ted Huston, Fl.

She was preceded in death by a sister Loa Countryman and Brother Claire Countryman.
