Mrs. Eltra Mae Bellard affectionately called “Blackie” by loved ones and friends, departed this life at age 73 at the Heights of North Houston on April 23rd, 2018 at 4:50 AM. Mrs. Eltra Mae Bellard was born on a bright and beautiful day on September 17, 1944 in Mallet, Louisiana, to Walter John Lavergne and Hilma Cecilia Guillory Lavergne. She resided in Houston Texas for the past 50 years. She attended Our Mother of Mercy and St Francis Church of Houston. Preceding her death are her parents, Walter and Cecilia LaVergne; husband, Samuel Matthew Bellard; Sisters: Lenora LaVergne-Johnson; Mary Lavergne-Santos; and brothers, Lenier Lavergne and John C. LaVergne SURVIVING CHILDREN: daughter, Michele Bellard; two sons, Anthony Bellard and wife Kathryn and Matthew Bellard, all of Houston, TX SURVIVING SIBLINGS: Four Brothers, Alfred LaVergne (Vera) of Jacksonville, Florida, Joseph Norman Lavergne of Houston, TX, Joseph Cary LaVergne, Sr. (Billie) and Ronald LaVergne (Debra) both of Port Arthur, TX, Two Sisters: Nelma Stevens of Lake Charles, Louisiana and Roma Nell Jones (Ronald) of Houston, TX SURVIVING GRAND CHILDREN; Kianana Bellard, Anthony Joseph Bellard, David L Bradford Jr., Devin L Bradford, Lauren Bellard, Antoinee Bellard and (Stepson) Stephen Barnaba SURVIVING GREAT GRANDCHILDREN: DeAlon, Kyria, Kylia, Keith Washington, III, Kalyn, Kirin and Alivyn And a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
