Mrs. Meyer died Thursday, March 28, 2013 at Good Samaritan Center, Beatrice. Elta was born January 24, 1921 at Wayne the daughter of Peter P. and Ella D. (Brudigan) Nelsen. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Wayne. She attended District 34 rural school in Wayne County and then graduated from Wayne High School. Elta married Wallace Meyer on August 28, 1938 at St. Paul’s and then lived on a farm near Wayne and moved to Norfolk in 1958 where she was employed at Henningson Foods, the Norfolk Veterans Home and Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital.
Elta was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, WELCA and AAL.
Elta is survived by her son Valerius (Marilyn) Meyer of Beatrice, daughter in-law Susan (Dave) Chase of Omaha, 9 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Wallace, two son’s Valdeen and Vernoel, two daughter’s Vikki and Valda and one brother.
