Elsie (Zoltack) Petrash, 96, formerly of Bethlehem, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 20, 2020, at Hidden Meadows on the Ridge in Sellersville. Married in 1946, she was the wife of the late Stephen Petrash, who died in 1996. Elsie was fortunate to spend 50 years with the love of her life, Steve, before his passing.
Born in Hazel Brook, PA, Elsie was the daughter of the late Andrew B. and Mary (Keyock) Zoltack. She graduated from Liberty High School in 1941, and went on to work as a secretary at Bethlehem Steel Corp for 7 years. She then worked for Bethlehem Area School District in the food and library service departments, retiring after 25 years of service.
Elsie was a lifelong member of the former Grace Lutheran Church in Bethlehem. She taught Sunday School, loved singing in the choir, and volunteered at the church bazaar, Mother’s Day dinner, and craft groups.
Elsie was also a member of Bethlehem Township’s Autumn Club, and looked forward to attending the weekly meetings and outings. Before her husband’s passing, she looked forward to visiting dinner theaters, casinos and the Shore with trips sponsored by the MORA Club.
Survivors: Beloved daughter Debra Bacak and her husband George J. of Sellersville; grandchildren Kira and Gregory. Elsie was predeceased by her brothers Raymond, Donald and Norman Zoltack.
