Mrs. Elsie Powell Hood, 94, of Buford, Ga. passed away on Wednesday, June 9th, 2021.
She was born on November 21th, 1926 in Atlanta, GA to Mr. Carlton Powell and Mrs. Fanny Mae Grizzle Powell.
Mrs. Hood is survived by a son, Dwight A. Hood of Douglasville, GA; grandchildren, Bryan Hood and Tish Hood; great-grandchildren, Zach Harper, Christian Hood, Bailey Reece Hart; great-grandchild, Kinzley Harper; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Mrs. Hood was a graduate of Buford High School and retired from Southern Bell Telephone Co. where she worked in many areas.
She loved to read mystery novels, travel, and cook. She loved to spend time with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and her one great, great granddaughter. Mrs. Hood was a long-time member of New Bethany Baptist Church in Buford, GA.
