Miss Elsie Mae Boyd, 85, died Friday, July 15, 2011 at Moses Cone Hospital.
She was born June 17, 1926, the daughter of the late Luther Boyd and Mozelle Boyd. She was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters-in-law, Luther Boyd, Jr. (Elner) and James Boyd (Catherine).
She attended the public schools in Guilford County, Woodyside School and graduated from Florence High School. She was employed with the Guilford County School System and retired from there. She was a lifelong member of Zion Hill United Methodist Church where she participated in all areas of the church.
Elsie leaves to cherish the loving memories of her life: her niece Frankie Lynn Staton of Nashville, TN; great niece, Penny McLean (Larry) of High Point; great nephew, Trey Baker of Nashville, TN; great great nieces and nephew, Candace, Ashley, and L J; two aunts, Mary Metz of Greensboro, and Carrie Idlene Jones of Detroit, MI; special cousin, Bessie Threadgill (Bobby) of Greensboro, and special cousin, Eddie Wright of Greensboro; a host of cousins and friends.
