Elsie M. “Mickey” Lindholm, age 92, of Geneva, passed away Saturday, May 15, 2021, at Meadowbrook Village Christian Retirement Community in Escondido, California. She was born May 21, 1928 in Geneva, the daughter of John and Ida (Gabrielson) Johnson.

Mickey met the love of her life, Dick Lindholm, in typing class at Geneva High School.

Mickey was a dedicated mother and homemaker for many years, putting her family before all else. She was an avid and accomplished seamstress, providing fashionable clothing for her fast-growing girls.

After her children were grown, she proved to be a valuable asset to her husband’s many business interests. In addition, Mickey was “first lady” of Geneva for the eight years Dick served as mayor.

Dick and Mickey were fortunate to travel to many places in the world. Their top two destinations were undoubtedly Sweden and Israel.

Mickey is survived by daughters Deborah Lindholm of California, Carol (Don) Peterson of Illinois, Janet (Leo) McGill and Nancy (Steve Goad) Lindholm both of California; son-in-law Don Jackson of Missouri; 8 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and many other dear relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by Richard, her beloved husband of 70 years, and daughter Susan Jackson. Her parents and 9 siblings also preceded her in death.

Our sincere gratitude to Mickey’s daughter Janet for compassionate care for her in her final years. The family also thanks Jill and John Gronberg for many years of caring for their Aunt Mickey and Uncle Dick.
