Okeechobee – Elsie Katheryne Close went home to her Lord and Savior on Thanksgiving Day November 25, 2021. She was born in Brooklyn, New York on April 11, 1948, to John and Elsie (Seivers) Reichert. She was a lifelong resident of Okeechobee; she was a member of First United Methodist Church.
She retired from the Okeechobee County School District after 30 plus years. She enjoyed the music of all kinds, the beach, and gardening.
She was preceded in death by her father, John Reichert; her mother, Elsie (Seivers) Reichert; and her brother, Dennis Reichert.
She is survived by her son, Byron Close (Heidi Lefevre), of Okeechobee; and boyfriend Roy Lashomb, of Okeechobee.
