Elsie Porter, 88, of Oglesby, died July 27, at Manor Court in Peru.
Mrs. Porter was born on July 21, 1926, in Oglesby, to Peter and Margarita (Passini) Garzanelli. She married Clyde “Percy” Porter on October 21, 1948 in Oglesby. He died on July 26, 2011. She owned and operated Garzanelli’s Supper Club with her sister, Catherine, until retiring in 1974. She was a life-time member of the American Legion Auxiliary.
She is survived by two daughters, Cindy Porter, of Chicago, and Nina (Chuck) Carretto, of Oglesby, one son, Thomas (Linda) Porter, of Oglesby, and three grandchildren, Steven Porter, and Alex and Mia Carretto. She was preceded in death by her husband, one sister, Catherine Farneti, and two brothers, Mario and Nino Garzanelli.
