Elsie G. Sanchez, 74, a lifelong resident of Santa Clara passed away peacefully in her home on August 18, 2022 surrounded by her loving family.
Elsie was born January 26, 1948 in Santa Rita to Marcos and Concha Garcia. She worked many years for the Cobre School District and was loved and respected by both, students and co-workers. Elsie loved learning about the Bible and sharing her hope for the future with others. She was baptized as a Jehovah’s Witness on December 30, 1961 and had a very strong faith until the end. Elsie was an amazing mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend. She will be missed dearly by everyone who knew her.
Elsie is survived by two sons, John “JD” Sanchez (Jodie) and Jonathan Sanchez (Lupita); one daughter, Jenifer E. Sanchez; four grandchildren, James Anthony Sanchez, Jerika Nicole Sanchez, Angelina Rose Sanchez and Jose Levario and family; one great-grandchild, James Kaiden Sanchez. She is also survived by her siblings, Grace Hernandez (Paul), Mark Garcia (Carol), Joe Garcia (Bonnie), Betty Schultz (Dave); a large extended family as well as a very large spiritual family that loved her dearly.
She was preceded in death her parents; sister, Angie Chappell; her husband, Johnny Sanchez. The immediate family would like to extend a special thank you to Betty and Dave Schultz as well as Sam and Amanda. Hernandez.
