Elsie Engelhaupt, 77, of Peru, formerly of Champaign, passed away Wednesday, February 9, 2011 at Manor Court of Peru. Ms. Engelhaupt was born on June 9, 1933 in Ladd to Fred and Matilda (Nothnagel) Engelhaupt. She received a bachelors degree from Northern Illinois University and her masters degree from the University of Colorado at Boulder.
She began teaching at Peoria Richwoods and taught the majority of her career at Champaign Centennial High School. She was a member of Zion United Church of Christ in Peru. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma Society for Key Women Educators ad previously active in the Champaign Republican County Party Organization. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Elmer Engelhaupt; and one sister and brother in-law, Ella (Engelhaupt) and Wes Baker. Pallbearers will be Randy Fouth, Gary Fouth, Garrett Fouth, and Dave Flaherty,
