HAGERSTOWN, Md. a” Elsie Elizabeth Schwartz, 91, of Hagerstown, and formerly of Milestone Garden Apartments, Williamsport, Md., died Thursday, Jan. 20, 2011, at NMS Healthcare, Hagerstown, after a long lengthy illness for five years.
She was born April 25, 1919, in Philadelphia, Pa., to the late George Jr. and Elsie Elizabeth Simons McKinney.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter John Schwartz Jr., in 1993.
She was employed by Fidelity Bank of Philadelphia for 20 years until her retirement.
She was a member of St. Andrew Presbyterian Church, Williamsport, where she enjoyed the many women and church functions.
She was a member of AARP.
After leaving the Philadelphia area in 1967, they bought a home in Mount Laurel, N.J. Following her husband’s death in 1993, Elsie relocated to Maryland in 1995 to be closer to her family.
Survivors include son, Walter John Schwartz and his wife, Beverly M.
