On October 22, 2016, Elsie Charlene Bilenki, 79, passed away at her daughter’s home in Severn. Elsie was born in 1937 to the late Mamie and Herbert Keys in South Baltimore, where she graduated from Southern High School. She was an active member of the Women of the Moose Lodge 1456 where she made many people laugh, and wrote plays and skits. Elsie was the “life of the party” and was the quintessential neighborhood Mom when her children were growing up. She enjoyed writing short stories and poetry, hand crafting earrings, hair barrettes, Tootsie Roll necklaces, and Christmas presents made out of money for her grandchildren and her mother. In her younger days she enjoyed changing up the lyrics to popular songs to make them her own and jitterbugging with her close girlfriends.
Elsie was predeceased by her devoted husband of 49 years, George J. Bilenki and her daughter, Margaret Hood. She is survived by her beloved daughters, Sharon Weaver, Susie Baker, and Donna Early; her loving grandchildren, Ray Hood, Kathy Bentley, Brian Weaver, Danny Weaver, Heather Wright, Paul Weaver, Jacob Baker, Pat Early, and Brad Early; and her cherished great-grandchildren, Brian Weaver, Logan Weaver, Mason Weaver, Isabelle Wright, MacKenzie Wright, Kylie Hood, Maura Hood, Riley Martin, Austin Martin, and Orion Early. She was affectionately known as “BaBinky” to her smallest great-grandchildren.
