Elsie Broesder, age 80, of Algona passed away on March 26, 2020 at Mercy of North Iowa in Mason City. Elsie Jeanette Broesder, the daughter of Jacob and Marjorie (Harding) Ryg, was born on November 21, 1939 in Ottosen, Iowa. She graduated from Twin Rivers High School in 1957. On July 3, 1959 Elsie was united in marriage with Edward Broesder in Algona. She had worked at Snap-On Tools for 42 years, retiring in 2001. Elsie was a member of First United Methodist Church and North Iowa Woodcarvers. She loved woodcarving, playing cards, flowers and delivering meals on wheels. Left to cherish Elsie’s memory is her husband of 60 years, Edward; two sons, Brian (Amie) Broesder of Lee Summit, MO and Keith Broesder of Mason City and three grandchildren, Zoe Gerlach, Alec Broesder and Adelyn Broesder. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Jack Ryg and Francis Ryg.
