Elsa (Pushnig) Barnes, 89, of Dalzell, IL, passed away Thursday, December 26, 2019 at her home. Her body will be donated to the SIU School of Medicine in hopes of making a difference for others.
Mrs. Barnes was born December 19, 1930 in Salzburg, Austria to Franz and Rosa Pushnig. She married Lorry “Bo” Barnes on December 17, 1976 in Ottawa, IL.
Mrs. Barnes was a member of First Baptist Church, LaSalle. She enjoyed shopping and walking, especially at Starved Rock State Park. Her greatest joy was her family.
Survivors include her husband, Bo; two daughters, Sylvia (Dan) Colvin of LaSalle and Becky (Dave) Riffe of Decatur, AL; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son, Kenny Hall; her parents; her step-father, Adolph Pushnig and two sisters, Erica and Margaret.
