Eloise “Weezie” Sullivan, a native of Jackson and resident of Mount Vernon, departed this life to glory Thursday, Nov. 29, 2018. Born Sept. 7, 1944, she was 74 years of age.
Eloise was a member of the Harper High School Class of 1962. A faithful and dedicated member of New Beginning Apostolic Church in McIntosh for many years, she served faithfully as an usher until her health began to decline. Previously promoted to president of the Usher Department, she served in many churches in Washington and Mobile counties, as well as performing the duty of being “A Door Keeper For The Lord.” She also volunteered her time to the Church of God Pentecostal Southern Dioceses Women’s Department and was a member of the Outreach Ministry for incarcerated people.
Preceding her in death were her father, Rivers Dickinson Jr.; stepfather, James Bettis; and sister, Victoria Patterson.
She is survived by her loving husband, Spencer Sullivan; three devoted sons, Kenneth (Voncille) Dickinson, Kevin (Tashara) Roberts, Demetrius Roberts and Leandrew (Ebony) Sullivan; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild; her mother, Retha Love Bettis; brother, Melvin Dickinson; six sisters, Carrie (T.C. Jr.) Reed, Jackie (Van) Reed, Jane James, Teresa Bettis, Mary Simmons and Pamela Jackson; four brothers-in-law, Thomas (Mattie) Sullivan, Herman (Eva) Sullivan, Charles (Ruthie) Sullivan and Reginald (Lisa) Sullivan; sister-in-law, Juanita (George) Barnes; aunt, Idella Bass; with a host of loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
